Becoming a parent is a big transition. We all have our own ideas for what having a family will look like. We also are inundated with images and pressure from society, family and friends. The problem is we never really know what this process will feel like until we are in it. I can help you adjust and cope through the perinatal period (pregnancy and postpartum.)
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Unfortunately, too many people experience trauma and loss during a time that should bring so much joy. I am trained and experienced in working with individuals living with pregnancy loss (miscarriage, abortion) and birth trauma.
Counseling can be beneficial to individuals who are struggling with excessive worries and sadness. I specifically help those who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression during pregnancy and postpartum. I am a therapist certified in perinatal mental health. I can help you build your skills in coping and decreasing uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. You do not need to suffer alone!
